(SanDiego.CityRegions.Com, September 24, 2014 ) SAN DIEGO, CA, September 24, 2014 – The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the leading association for today’s technology services organizations, has issued a new report titled “Adoption Services: Closing the Consumption Gap,” authored by Maria Manning-Chapman, TSIA’s senior director of education services research. The report focuses on developing adoption and outcome-based services for growth and profitability in the education services field.
The recently released report looks at some of the unique offers that education services organizations are using to engage customers, ensure that they are consuming education that enables success, and support the outcome-based objectives of their customers. It reveals that the focus of education services organizations has largely been to educate customers on how to use a product, but recent shifts in the industry are forcing ES organizations to include customer outcomes as a primary objective in the development and delivery of education offers. It also outlines the growing need for optimize services, which are designed to reduce operational complexity for customers, and details the three distinctive types of optimize services that product companies can provide a customer: operational services, adoption services, and information services.
This research article also discusses the role education plays in facilitating product adoption via consumption monitoring and consumption optimization through formulating an adoption-based service, examples of adoption-based services, the importance of a customer success team in driving adoption, and the application of analytics to assess usage and adoption.
“Adoption, whether of technology or education, hasn’t been given the attention it deserves,” says Manning-Chapman. “This new report communicates that whether a product is sold as on-premise or via subscription, first understanding usage and adoption patterns and then providing education offers to help drive customer adoption are paramount in closing the consumption gap.”
TSIA members may access the report on the TSIA website. The findings will also be presented on Monday, October 20 at the TSW Service Transformations conference during the Power Hour track where TSIA executives present new industry research.
