(SanDiego.CityRegions.Com, December 30, 2014 ) San Diego, CA -- Our Pet Stuff is preparing to launch the company's first product, the P-lite Pet Stain Detector Flashlight.. The P-lite is a 12 LED black light flashlight specifically designed to detect dried pet stains.
According to Rick McKee, CEO and Founder of Our Pet Stuff, there is a real demand for a flashlight that actually works. He stated that "many of the lights on the market don't consistently detect the pet stains because the bulbs are set at a UV wavelength that is simply too high". When asked what really separates his product from the competition Mckee pointed out that the 12 P-lite LED bulbs are calibrated at 385nm which is the accurate UV wavelength to illuminate the stains.
The 4.75 inch aluminum bodied P-lite is powered by 3 AAA batteries and can be operated from a standing position to avoid having to kneel down for long periods. It is shockproof and water resistant.
When asked to explain exactly how the P-lite works to find stains, Mckee replied "the P-lite has 12 bulbs that emit black light. A black light emits long wave UV light and not very much light that is visible to the human eye". He continued "Ultraviolet or UV radiation is invisible to us but we can illuminate certain materials with it that in turn will emit visible light, causing the substance or substances to glow". The CEO concluded "The salt in the dried urine stains fluoresce under the P-lite which enable us to identify the stains that are otherwise undetectable".
The company, Our Pet Stuff is launching the P-lite on New Year's Day online, predominantly via Amazon.com. Pricing starts at $18.00.
