(SanDiego.CityRegions.Com, March 11, 2015 ) San Diego, California -- The San Diego community is cordially invited to attend the author panel and signing, featuring acclaimed writers John Carvalho, Nadia Sahari, and Jon Morgan Woodward, at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Mira Mesa, 10775 Westview Parkway, San Diego, CA, 92126. The event is free and open to the public, and will begin at 6:30pm on March 19.
All three authors have been in the news as of late following the publishing of their works: Dr. John Carvalho gained notoriety when his book “The Crisis Of Our Time” came out in July 2014 and was submitted for the Pulitzer Prize; Jon Morgan Woodward, author of “Hidden Valley The Awakening” and its sequel, “Hidden Valley Game On”, has been in the spotlight with the announcement that his books will be made into feature films; and Actress and Author Nadia Sahari, wrote the #1 best seller and top 100 Amazon.com memoir “Break Away: The Road To Freedom”. To commemorate their publications, all three authors recently held a festive, red carpet event in Hollywood, California that attracted hundreds of guests and local media. Now, for one evening on March 19th, Barnes & Noble will host a special engagement where these three notorieties will be talking about their new books and signing them for the general public.
“We are very excited to work with Barnes & Noble to take the message of our books to San Diego,” states Dr. John Carvalho, former Harvard University scholar and author of “The Crisis Of Our Time” (AuthorHouse). “My fellow authors and I have promoted our books in person extensively in the Los Angeles area, and we now wish to meet the communities of other California cities.”
Carvalho’s new opus instantly gained its author attention, earning him a “Best Literary Writer” nomination from AIMA and media publicity from numerous magazines, newspapers, TV and radio. In addition, the book was submitted for this year’s Pulitzer Prize. To the San Francisco Chronicle, Carvalho explained that his new book is partly a memoir, but also a discussion that addresses “the key issues presently plaguing our society: global health and spread of infectious diseases, economic recession, planetary climate change, fiscal austerity, and the personal, psychological stress that we encounter while we try to find meaning amidst a world of apparent purposelessness.” His book, which has also been publicized in Europe, is likewise a philosophical reflection regarding the resolutions to world problems.
In contrast to John Carvalho’s autobiographical discussion, Nadia Sahari’s memoir “Breakaway: The Road To Freedom” describes Sahari’s difficult family life as she tries to grapple with her Lebanese heritage, all while trying to “fit in” to American society. Her stunning book also discusses her personal struggle with physical and mental abuse at the hands of her alcoholic husband. Sahari spins a captivating, real-life story that should be read by anyone trying to overcome abuse at the hands of others.
“I’m hoping that my life’s journey will illuminate people about the many challenges we have in overcoming abuse in our society, and act as an inspiration for those who feel isolated and helpless in their fight against abuse,” says Sahari, who has actively supported efforts to end the abuse of women and children by mentoring them, raising awareness, and speaking at fundraisers. In fact, Sahari, who is also an actress that has hosted a successful Internet radio talk show, has also authored “The Bully Cat”, which teaches children 4-8 to recognize and deal with bullies.
“After people read my books, I really want them to recognize that it is by choice and not by chances that we change our circumstances,” says Sahari. Indeed, as book publicist Denise Cassino commented, “Nadia Sahari is an incredibly powerful woman…Against all odds, she overcame the toughest of challenges and is now leading her life with purpose instead of letting life lead her.”
Finally, on a more fictional note, author Jon Morgan Woodward has spun a tale of both horror and suspense that Hollywood moviegoers will love. “Hidden Valley: The Awakening” became the #1 download in the world last Black Friday, and has generated interest in the book becoming a future film. As one commentator described: “If you are aching for the werewolf heart throbs and mysteries entangled around love, lust, and blood that ended when the Twilight Saga finished, then you will thirst to read this bloodcurdling thriller.”
Woodward an accomplished director, producer, screenwriter, and actor singlehandedly raised five children. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, talent, and intrigue into his book’s storyline that fascinates both young and mature adults as it delves into the mystery of a small town and its secrets.
