(SanDiego.CityRegions.Com, October 16, 2015 ) San Diego, CA -- The RUNderground, a sports media and products company announced today the upcoming launch of their new AthleTecs: Bone Conduction Headphones set to be released in mid-October of this year. The exact launch date has not yet been released.
With bone conduction technology, sound waves are transmitted through bones in the head. When the bones vibrate, sound waves reach the cochlea, the same way they would traveling through the middle ear and eardrum. As a result, the same nerve impulses are transmitted to the brain, allowing the user to hear the sounds. By circumventing the middle ear and eardrum, their awareness of their surrounding environment is preserved, providing a safer, more enjoyable run.
The AthleTecs will feature bone conduction speakers, wireless Bluetooth connectivity, internal lithium ion battery, HyperCharge (30-60 min. charging time), 6 hours play time, 30 day stand by time and a 33 foot connection distance. The headset showcases a new ergonomic design where weight is distributed on the sides of the unit, rather than the traditional placement on the back. This prevents the unit from bouncing and keeps it firmly in place during extended usage. On the Go controls can be found on the side of the unit for simple to use functionality. Play/pause, volume up and down, track forward and rewind can all be controlled with the mobile device tucked away.
The headphones also operate as a fully functioning mobile phone. Pick up calls/refuse calls/end calls, call waiting and redial can all be done by 3 buttons on the side of the device. The headset is equipped with dual microphones to deliver a clear sound during calls and make voice texting simple and highly accurate.
For accessories, The RUNderground AthleTecs come with the following: 1 micro-USB charging cable, User Manual and external Power Bank. The micro-USB allows for efficient charging from laptops and desktop computers. The Power Bank when fully charged, will completely charge a drained headset. This allows for extended on the go usage with no additional power source required. The Power Bank also comes with a built in LED flashlight.
AthleTecs will be available on Amazon and several additional ecommerce platforms. They are listed at $99.99 and will be on sale for $79.99 while supplies last.
