(SanDiego.CityRegions.Com, November 14, 2012 ) San Diego, CA -- After giving birth to her second child in September, 31-year-old supermodel Adriana Lima showed up at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on November 7th looking better than ever. Many have wondered how Lima was able to recover so quickly from such a toll taking experience like childbirth, and Lima has now explained herself.
The supermodel told newspapers that she attributes her fast recovery and beautiful shape to her diet and workout regiment. Lima said after the birthing she switched to a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet, and worked out twice a day. She explained that her workouts were varied and included boxing, lifting weights, and jumping rope and that she trains in short, intense bursts rather than over a longer period of time.
Lima, who is married to professional basketball player Marko Jaric, has been under intense scrutiny after she reportedly admitted to using a liquid diet before the famous fashion show in years past.
The media has scolded her for this because they say it could have an undesirable impact on young women trying to emulate her looks. Lima did admit to the diet, but said that the only time she does it is before the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, and that is only for a matter of days. She told E! news that her diet is normal throughout the year, but that before the world-renowned show she takes different steps in order to look her best.
Lima told reporters that she likes to stay fit no matter what she is doing throughout the year. She says that it makes her feel better, puts her in a better mood, keeps her mind sharp, and keeps her healthy. Lima was adamant that she wants to be in shape even as she grows older and wanted to make sure young women knew her routine. She said that due to her tough workouts, she has no choice but to replenish her system with large amounts of food and that her liquid diet was not as extreme as it is made in the media.
All that considered, her look at the fashion show shocked many who knew of her pregnancy and recent birthing. Adriana Lima continues to amaze with her beauty and fitness and plans on continuing her shape for years to come.
