Their original commercial grade paracord 550 which use to be their flagship product is gradually being replaced by a much higher grade and certified U.S Armed Forces version. A.S Outpost has left the commercial grade paracord behind to replace it with a higher grade Mil-C-5040 version used by military personnel, survivalists, preppers, federal agents, tactical groups and more.
Known to the military as parachute cord, the cord itself is certified and guaranteed to hold 550 lbs. It is used by parachutist, rock climbers, extreme survival schools and others who use paracord 550 under extreme conditions.

Paracord weavers have found our cord to be much more flexible, easier to melt and smooth to the touch versus the commercial grade that has a more course feel to it.
